What Is Infrared? Infrared is a type of light with thermal (heat) properties. The sun's rays that keep us warm during the day are the invisible infrared rays. These rays do not give us sunburns or have other negative effects on our bodies. In fact, these rays are considered to be the sun's safe rays.
How Does Infrared Light Work? Infrared light has straight, unswerving rays, which can be seen using a special camera. These invisible rays find a direct path to an object. When the infrared rays touch the object, the object's atoms are stimulated. The atoms start moving faster and faster until the object becomes warm. This warming or thermal property of infrared light happens naturally, whether the infrared rays come from the sun or are filtered through carbon, crystal or another ecological medium. How Does Infrared Light Affect the Human Body? The human body "gives off" (emits) infrared light on a continuous basis. The infrared light that our bodies lose needs to be replaced. Replacement happens when infrared light rays touch our skin. The skin absorbs the infrared rays, which stimulates atoms, cells and the immune system to cleanse the blood (detoxify); heal and repair damaged organ tissues, blood vessels, nerves, ligaments, bones and joints; and maintain the body's natural, healthy balance.
