"Good Day All:"
"I hope this e-mail finds you all doing well and having an incredible year. Just a quickie update re Team Tecnu Extreme adventure racing team. Our studdette, Iona Mackenzie, did the Florida Half-Ironman Triathlon last weekend, doing a personal best and getting 3rd in the most competitive age group in all of triathlon, so we're proud of her for her accomplishment."
"As a team we are doing the U.S. Rogaining Championship in Central Oregon this weekend and hope to do well. We are then headed to an adventure race 3 weeks later and expect to podium there as well. We will keep you abreast of the team happenings and will fire you off a copy of the feature article of our team-mate, Paul Meade, in Competitor Magazine next month."
"Stay safe and sane and thanks again for all your continued support of the team." "Earring" Doug Judson Team Captain of Tecnu Extreme - Adventure Racing Team www.espritdecorpadventureracing.com Oregon, USA _________________________
3rd Place May 20, 2007 Ford Florida 70.3 Half-Ironman Race - Florida Iona Mackenzie
"Could you pass on the following to Alaska Electrolytes?"
"I seem to be pre-disposed to hyponatremia and have often struggled in long races, especially ones in hot climates."
"After years of tinkering with nutrition, I know what it is that I am needing: electrolytes, including sodium. However, having the electrolytes in a convenient form has always been difficult: I can't swallow pills or eat salty foods while I'm running hard - I can't take the time to try to dissolve some tablet or salt packet every time I pass through an aid station. This year at the Florida 70.3 Half-Ironman, I carried a small bottle of the sports electrolytes on the run. It was PERFECT. I simply squirted some electrolytes into the Gatorade or water cups at each aid station, and it really kept me going. I had the most solid Half-Ironman run of any race, and ended up with a personal best for the Half-Ironman distance. It was enough to let me achieve 3rd place in my age group (one of the largest and most competitive in the women's field). I've been telling other racers about them ever since." "Thanks so much for this excellent product and your generosity as a sponsor. I will certainly be using this for my races going forward." 3rd Place Overall January 2007 White River 8K Snowshoe Race - Portland, Oregon Nelson Snyder - Age: 35 - Category: Men's 35-39 - Time: 42:32
"Tecnu Extreme - Adventure Racing Team - team member, Nelson Snyder, started off his racing season with a 3rd Place finish at the White River 8 Kilometer Snowshoe Race. Not bad considering it was his first time on our sponsor's, TSL, new step-in racing shoe. With this placement Nelson qualifies for the snowshoeing Nationals. Our official racing season starts on Feb 17, 2007 at the 24 Hours of Old Pueblo Mountain Bike Race in Arizona, which Nelson won last year on a single speed. I thank you all again for your continued sponsorship and dedication to Team Tecnu Extreme. Without you, participating in these races would not be possible." 6th Place November 18, 2006 Silverman Ironman Triathlon World Championships - Nevada 10,000' Bike Climb - 2000' Run / Climb - Swim / 4' Swells
"Team member, Iona Mackenzie of elite adventure racing team Tecnu Extreme, did the full Silverman Ironman Triathlon last weekend in Nevada. She remarked, 'It was the hardest and most hellish thing I've ever done due to the 20 m.p.h. winds during the 10,000 feet of climbing on the bike, 30 mph wind gusts during the 2000 feet of climbing on the run, and 4 foot swells and whitecaps on the swim.' Iona suffered her way to a 6th place overall women's placement. Due to the arduous conditions, 25% of the racers did not even finish the course. That is awesome! We are proud and excited to have Iona on the team. We look forward to having an incredible year of racing in 2007 and promoting our killer sponsors along the way." October 21, 2006 Ford Ironman Triathlon World Championships - Hawaii 2.4 Mile Swim - 112 Mile Bike - 26.2 Mile Run
"My original plan was to train on the bike or run with the product (Alaska Electrolytes Plus: Sports Electrolytes) prior to the race, but due to the time I had, I mixed up a bottle (of Alaska Electrolytes Plus: Sports Electrolytes) and decided to use it first during race day. I WAS AMAZED at how my body was affected. Knowing that each race is different and conditions vary, I tried to not alter any variables to determine exactly how Alaska Electrolytes worked. In past races I have paid dearly with extreme cramps beginning by mile 80 on the bike and continuing through the run."
"During this race, I posted my fastest bike split but couldn't produce much of a run. Where I knew that something was drastically different is when the slow pace on the run wasn't due to cramping. I kept waiting for the cramps, knowing that they would begin anytime, but they never did. I also felt great the day after and experienced a much faster recovery from the race itself. I would like your professional opinion on my performance, specifically in this race and how I can continue to use Alaska Electrolytes as part of my adaptation and solution to maximize my performance going forward in future races."
"I look forward to hearing your professional opinion and adapting my training, nutrition and hydration for my next Ironman race, which is scheduled for April." "Best regards," Paul Meade / Team Member - Tecnu Extreme - Adventure Racing Team www.espritdecorpadventureracing.com Oregon, USA _________________________
October 10, 2006 2006 - 2007 Racing Season
" I had the pleasure of trying Alaska Electrolytes sports formula in 2000 while training for the World Championships of adventure racing and was greatly pleased by the end result. I noticed I recovered from training faster, had less lactic acid buildup, slept better, had less stomach problems and an overall increase in performance. If you lose 2% of your body weight in water, you see a 20% decrease in your performance. Alaska Electrolytes Plus does an amazing job in minimizing this impact and helps keep you working at an optimal level. Thank you for developing this product and for your continued faith in the team as we push the pace and test the boundaries of human endurance. We look forward to Alaska Electrolytes Plus helping us to stand atop the podium next year at the World Champions of Adventure racing." 1st Place 3 out of 4 Races September 21-23, 2001 "Attack on America" Race - Chicago
"We will be racing in Chicago this weekend and are dedicating our win to those we lost in the 'Attack on America.' You will be able to see it on ESPN in October. We are one of the favored teams. We won the Sea to Summit Adventure Race last weekend from Vancouver, B.C. to Whistler, which was the biggest adventure races in North America, and we also won the Sierra Challenge in Fresno, California, so we've won 3 out of the last 4 races we've done this year. We will be at the Wild Onion Urban Adventure Race in Chicago this weekend (September 21-23, 2001) and have a great chance to win that as well."
"We keep selling people on Alaska Electrolytes. We've let lots of people use them over the past few months." "Cheerios and thanks again for everything," Sincerely,

1st Place September 16-17, 2000 Four Winds Mountain Rage Race - Ventura County, California
"We won a race this past weekend in 108 degree weather. Brutal, it was over 100 miles of running, mountain biking, ocean kayaking -- with a 300 foot waterfall rappel. We feel that Alaska Electrolytes Plus SPORTS Drink was instrumental in our ability to keep pushing hard during the heat. Despite many teams falling to the wayside to heat stroke, we were able to slowly progress forward and get the win. Thank you!"
