Independent In Vitro Research Test Results - Findings - Summary - Interpretation The Aloe Vera supplier for Alaska Jewel is the first and only Aloe Vera supplier to conduct in vitro research to determine biological activity on its own Aloe Vera. The following test results below using the Aloe Vera in Alaska Jewel Skin Care speak for themselves. No theories, no internal standards, no assumptions, no chemical tests. Just the living proof! The process for growing living skin in vitro called the Living Skin Equivalent™ (LSE) was developed by Organogenesis, Inc. (OI) and marketed under the name Testskin™ . This system was developed in order to conduct certain types of toxicity testing on compounds in vitro, rather than in animal models. Samples of our Aloe Vera Gel Regular and Decolorized 1X were submitted to determine toxicity using the LSE™ method. The Aloe submitted was not only completely non-toxic to the LSE™, but was in fact found to stimulate basal keratinocyte (skin cell) growth almost fourfold. Serial dilutions of processed Aloe Vera Gel 1X Regular and Decolorized were also submitted to OI for additional evaluation using the LSE™. The study concluded that both of the Aloe Vera gels tested induced an increase in basal keratinocyte proliferation. “The increase in labeling index (LI) with regular Aloe Vera gel was linear in a dose/concentration manner”, as indicated in the following Graph. The research indicates that in concentrations of 30% through 100% of Aloe Vera Gel 1X and 10X, the LI increases in a linear, dose/concentration related fashion.

In an attempt to reproduce the results obtained by OI, samples of processed Aloe Vera Gel Decolorized 1X were also submitted to In Vitro Alternatives, Inc., (IVA), another independent testing facility skilled in the use of LSE™. The summary/conclusion from IVA states, “This test material appears to have caused a stimulation of cellular activity, such that this material enhances cellular activity and viability”. Based on the conclusions of IVA, Alaska Jewel Skin Care Aloe Vera supplier recognized the need for additional research on the subject of Aloe Vera gel and its ability to enhance cell growth. Upon conclusion of this study, samples of the processed Aloe Vera Gel 1X, 10X and 40X were submitted to the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute (IITRI), a third testing facility, also skilled in working with the LSE™, to determine if another independent source could reproduce the acceleration of basal keratinocyte growth. A similar accelerated growth pattern was again demonstrated. Summary In all three cases of in vitro research by Organogenesis, IVA and IITRI, the Aloe Vera ingredients for Alaska Jewel Skin Care proved to be nontoxic to basal keratinocytes. In addition, in all three studies, our Aloe Vera gel proved to accelerate basal keratinocyte growth. The research indicates that the higher the concentration of this Aloe Vera gel the larger the increase in basal keratinocyte regeneration. It is important to note the linear relationship between Aloe concentration and its effect on basal cell proliferation activity which is significant. The following are 35mm slides of actual tissue cross-sections which have been treated with varying percentages of the Aloe Vera Gel tested. NAC (No Add Control), which serves as a basis for comparison, was not treated with Aloe Vera. In the photos you will note the dark purple, granular cells which appear as granular spheres. These are germinating basal cell keratinocytes (skin cells). The more prolific the cells, the more accelerated cell regeneration is taking place. Regular Language Interpretation All of this research and testing information means that healing occurred faster on the skin with 100% Aloe Vera Gel than on the skin without Aloe Vera Gel. The higher the concentration of Aloe Vera, the faster the cells regenerated and the skin healed. For example, the skin with 100% of our high quality Aloe Vera Gel healed faster than the skin with 50% Aloe Vera Gel. The skin without Aloe Vera Gel healed the slowest. Alaska Jewel Skin Care products have 65% to 88% Aloe Vera Gel, which allows for the continuous healing and skin cell regeneration that is required to regain and maintain optimum skin health. As we age, skin cell regeneration slows and we lose elasticity. Our skin begins to sag and wrinkles start to form. Add daily environmental stressors, such as dust, pollution and backaches, and our skin begins to look dull and lifeless. The Aloe Vera Gel in Alaska Jewel Skin Care products help fight this natural aging process and daily stresses by helping the skin to continuously generate new, hearty cells. These young, vigorous cells replenish our skin for a Youthful - Smooth - Healthy - Radiantly Stunning appearance.
